Terms of Use
Last updated November 6, 2026
Welcome to Lore Explorer! These terms are the house rules. By creating an account or posting anything, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, you can still browse, but please don’t sign up or post.
1. What Lore Explorer is
Lore Explorer is an unofficial, fan-run guide to the Maasverse. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Sarah J. Maas, Bloomsbury or any of her publishers. The books, characters and worlds belong to their creator. We’re just very enthusiastic readers.
Spoilers live here. Theories, receipts and comments cover every book. Browse at your own risk.
2. Who can join
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is okay with you using the site. One account per person, please, and keep your sign-in link to yourself.
3. What you post
Theories, receipts, comments, suggestions, Missing Pieces answers and anything else you add are “your posts.”
- You keep ownership of what you write and create.
- You give us permission to show it. By posting, you give Lore Explorer a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, organize, credit and share your posts on the site and in posts about the site (for example, sharing a top theory on social media with your display name). This lasts while your post is on the site, and for a reasonable time after you remove it so copies can be cleared out.
- Your display name and anything public on your profile (like an Instagram handle you choose to add, your rank and your Lore Points) can be seen by everyone.
- Suggestions and Missing Pieces are a gift to the archive. When we accept one, the information becomes part of the Lore Explorer database, and we may edit or reword it.
4. Only post what’s yours to share
- Quote the books briefly and with the book, chapter and page, the way readers do in reviews and discussions. Please don’t post whole pages or chapters.
- Fan art: only upload art you made yourself, or art you have the artist’s permission to share, and always credit the artist.
- Screenshots of interviews, posts or videos should be credited and linked to where they came from.
5. Be kind
Debate the theory, not the person. No harassment, hate, threats, slurs, sexual content involving minors, spam, impersonation, or sharing anyone’s private information. Ship wars are allowed; cruelty isn’t. We can hide, edit or remove posts, and suspend or remove accounts, at our discretion, including posts that break these rules or that we think hurt the community.
6. Reviews, points and ranks
New theories, receipts and suggestions are reviewed before they go live, and we may decline anything without explanation. Lore Points, ranks and badges are just for fun. They have no cash value, can’t be traded, and we may change how they work or reset them.
7. Copyright and takedowns
We respect creators. If you believe something on Lore Explorer uses your work without permission, please contact us with: a description of your work, where it appears on the site, your contact information, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized and that your notice is accurate. We’ll remove it promptly. Accounts that repeatedly post others’ work without permission will be removed.
8. The site is offered as is
Lore Explorer is a free fan project made with love, not a guarantee. We try hard to be accurate, but theories are speculation and the archive may have mistakes. The site may change, go down or lose data. To the fullest extent the law allows, we provide it “as is,” without warranties of any kind, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for anything other users post.
9. Ending things
You can stop using Lore Explorer at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the site grows. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know on the site. Using Lore Explorer after an update means you accept the new terms.
11. The legal bits
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. If any part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
